Presentation of a joint project by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the organization Urban Alliance of USA takes place in Washington

A ceremony was held, March 27, in connection with launching a new project of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation with the organization Urban Alliance of USA. Primary objective of the organization Urban Alliance is to support graduates that have just finished their university education through trainings and practice.


Speaking at the ceremony, US representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Jamila Pashayeva-Seyidzadeh talked about the Foundation, the year-by-year growing activity and achievements reached by this organization, headed by Azerbaijan’s First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva. Emphasizing the attention shown to education and care towards the youth by Mehriban Aliyeva, J.Pashayeva-Seyidzadeh said, from this standpoint, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Urban Alliance have similar features.


Talking of the project being implemented together with Urban Alliance, J.Pashayeva-Seyidzadeh said selection of first participants of this project coincided with the eve of 8 March – the International Women’s Day - and first three participants were chosen   among the girls who had applied to the project to undergo practical training supported by the Foundation.

 

Then a documentary describing the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s activity was shown.


Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to USA Elin Suleymanov talked of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s activity, the projects implemented and achievements made. Emphasizing, among the numerous projects, the Foundation’s work aimed at strengthening women’s role in the society, he mentioned the girls’ school built in Pakistan, and said the fact that first three young participants to benefit from the joint project with the organization Urban Alliance are girls was no coincidence.  E. Suleymanov underscored that this joint project will contribute to extending relations between our nations.


Head of Urban Alliance’s board of directors Mary Zients, President Ishwana Smith and strategic partnership director Megan Woodberry talked about the organization’s scope of activity, and said they were pleased with the cooperation with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and expressed a confidence these partnership relations will be successful.


Then the attendees watched a documentary about Urban Alliance.
