Memorandum of Understanding on Humanitarian Cooperation signed between Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Lithuanian Embassy in Azerbaijan

Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, met with Lithuanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Kestutis Kudzmanas, July 12. 


Memorandum of Understanding on Humanitarian Cooperation was signed in the meeting between Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Lithuanian Embassy in Azerbaijan.


The document was signed by Mehriban Aliyeva, Azerbaijan`s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, and Lithuanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Kestutis Kudzmanas.


Following the signing ceremony, Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva had a conversation with the Lithuanian Ambassador, during which she underlined the importance of the document featuring cooperation in cultural, education, healthcare and legal spheres. Mrs Aliyeva expressed hope the document would contribute to carrying out joint projects in the future. She also noted the Heydar Aliyev Foundation is ready for cooperation in this direction.


Ambassador Kudzmanas, in turn, praised the works and projects carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.


Mentioning significant projects implemented by the Foundation related to children, the diplomat pointed out the document signed today would open new opportunities for the Azerbaijani youth. So, he added, in accordance with the document, 20 Azerbaijani youth would get opportunity to get tuition free education in Lithuania-based leading universities. According to the Ambassador, Heydar Aliyev Foundation is the closest partner to the Embassy of Lithuania to realize education of Azeri youth in this country.
