The play “A Monument to Genocide” was shown in the city of Ighdyr

The Iravan State Azerbaijani Drama Theatre named after Jafar Jabbarly demonstrated the play “A Monument to Genocide” in the city of Ighdyr.


Arriving in Ighdyr with support from the Russian Representative Office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and at the invitation of the Circle for Struggle Against Groundless Armenian Claims and the University of Ighdyr, the company of actors was welcomed in a brotherly country with great sympathy.


Member of the Turkish Great National Assembly Sinan Oghan, management of the University of Ighdyr and employees of the provincial government were among those seeing the play shown at the Ighdyr Cultural Centre.


Written by Zehni Papakchy and  staged by Iftikhar Piriyev, the two-act play talks of the genocide committed by Armenians against the people of Azerbaijan during 1915-1992.
