The Heydar Aliyev Foundation commences implementation of a new project to promote Azerbaijan in Italy

With a view to more widely promoting Azerbaijan in regions of Italy, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation embarked upon implementation of a new project. The first event within the framework of the project took place in the city of Florence, the cultural hub  of the country, with support from the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Italy.

At an event held at the Municipal Theatre of Florence, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Italy Vagif Sadigov said this project will have an exclusive effect on broadening of dynamically developing relations between Azerbaijan and Italy, especially in the field of culture, thanks to serious endeavours by the heads of both countries. The diplomat emphasized that due to the efforts made by Mehriban Aliyeva, the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation,  the Foundation has implemented large-scale projects to promote our country in the world.

Then a concert of the Azerbaijan State Chamber Orchestra named after Gara Garayev took place under direction of People’s Artist Teymour Goychayev. The Orchestra performed works by Azerbaijani composers Uzeir Hajibeyli, Gara Garayev, Tofig Gouliyev and other well-known composers.

Along with officials of the city of Florence and well-known persons of the region, the event was also attended by  Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov.

Chairman of Florence City Council Eugenio Gianni thanked the participants of the event.
