A photo-exhibition entitled “Justice for Khojaly” was held in the Israeli city of Lod

A photo-exhibition entitled “Justice for Khojaly” was held in the Israeli city of Lod by the Israel-Azerbaijan International Association (AzIz), with support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the city municipality.

Veterans of Azerbaijani descent, representatives of the middle-aged generation, youth and teenagers have joined the exhibition.

The event was opened by member of the AzIz Association’s Board, lawyer Ilana Laytman.

Then Yegana Salman, the director of the Azerbaijan Culture Centre under the AzIz Association, took floor, and informed the visitors of the Khojaly tragedy. “The Khojaly tragedy, in which Armenian torturers killed 613 people in only one cold winter night, subjected many to unheard-of tortures and humiliation, was a crime against the whole humankind”, - she said.

Deputy of the Israeli parliament Suli Mualem said he was shocked by what he saw in the photos: “I believe the Khojaly tragedy will find its just appraisal, and rights of Azerbaijani refugees will be restored”.

Mayor of the city of Lod Yair Revivo also made a speech at the event, and said he condemned the occupation policy of Armenia against Azerbaijan.
