Memory of the Khojaly tragedy victims are revered in Chicago

On February 28, a ceremony was held in connection with the 22nd anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy in the city of Chicago, the Illinois state. The ceremony held at the Loyola University was attended by professional and teaching staff of the university, representatives of Azerbaijan and Turkey’s Diasporas, as well as well-known specialists in studying of international crimes.

 

Second secretary of Azerbaijan’s Embassy in US Konul Suleymanly delivered a speech and informed the attendees about the tragedy.

 

Then graduate of the Loyola University Mehriban Mammadova made a speech with presentation. She talked about the causes of the tragedy, and said the fact that those who had been directly involved in the committing of the tragedy are at large is major injustice.

 

At the end of the event, pieces of music were performed by American oud player Judith Montalvo, and a photo exhibition arranged with support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in memory of the Khojaly victims was demonstrated.
