The exhibition “Azerbaijan – A Land of Tolerance” is opened in Moscow

On April 3, an exhibition entitled “Azerbaijan – A Land of Tolerance” was inaugurated at the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Centre, Moscow, with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Russia, and the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Centre.

 

Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloghlu, Russia’s well-known political and cultural persons, employees of the Azerbaijani Embassy and the Russian Representative Office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and representatives of the All-Russian Azerbaijanis Congress attended the event.

 

Delivering a speech at the opening ceremony, President of the Jewish Communities Federation, Director General of the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Centre Alexander Boroda noted that historically Azerbaijan has been a hospitable home to representatives of all nations, and the Jewish community too has been living in peaceful conditions together with all other nations living in Azerbaijan.

 

Then Leyla Aliyeva addressed the ceremony.

 

Reza Deghati, the author of the photos being displayed at the exhibition, an Azerbaijani descent, thanked the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and, personally, Vice-president of the Foundation Leyla Aliyeva for supporting this initiative. He said the environment of tolerance he has witnessed in Azerbaijan is one of the rare models in the world.

 

Then the guests viewed the exhibition.

 

26 photos are displayed at the exhibition. The photos describe the lives of the Muslim, Jewish and Christian communities that have for centuries peacefully lived on the Azerbaijani soil.

 

The exhibition will continue until April 13.
