“The Evening of Azerbaijani Music” is held in Cannes with organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation

“The Evening of Azerbaijani Music” took place within the framework of the Days of Azerbaijani Culture held  in Cannes on  July 15.

 

The evening held in the Palace of Festivals of Cannes was attended by well-known public and political figures of France, leadership of the city of Cannes, and other influential guests.

 

Participants of the event were first introduced a photo exhibition associated with Baku-2015 First European Games. Guests were presented publications of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation related to Azerbaijan.

 

The host of “The Evening of Azerbaijani Music“ gave comprehensive information about our country, its ancient and rich culture, art and music. Deputy mayor of the city of Cannes, president of the Palace of Festivals Anne Rex underscored the significance of the event. Saying “To receive Azerbaijan is a great honour for the city of Cannes”, the deputy mayor noted that it was the third time that Azerbaijan’s culture and art was presented in Cannes on a very high level. Anne Rex said our country has organized a number of high-level events in Cannes. And this is welcomed by the residents and guests of the city with great interest. 

 

President of the Friends of Azerbaijan Association Jean-François Mansell recalled his visit to our country, and mentioned that Azerbaijan was a very tolerant country with significant geostrategic location. Jean-Francois Mansell also talked about the Daghlyg Garabagh conflict, and said Armenia had occupied Azerbaijani lands. Emphasizing a series of events organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in France, the president of the Friends of Azerbaijan Association said the first sitting of the France-Azerbaijan Interregional Cooperation Forum would be held in the city of Ganja.

 

Then a concert programme started. Ethno-Jazz samples were presented at the concert with participation of well-known master of jazz, pianist Emil Afrasiyab and his jazz band, as well as masers of art of Azerbaijan.
