An exhibition and a concert devoted to Mahsati Ganjavi in Reims

In November 2013, an exhibition and a concert devoted to the 900th jubilee of Azerbaijani poetess Mahsati Ganjavi was organized in the French city of Reims, with organizational support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and assistance by the country’s Embassy in France.

 

At an exhibition organized on November 28 at the Tau Palace of the city of Reims, garments related to Mahsati Ganjavi’s time, carpets with illustrations drawn to the poetess’s works, ancient coins, samples of coppersmithery and pottery art, china dishes and other exhibits were displayed.

 

At a concert organized on November 30 at the Reims Conservatoire, along with works by Uzeir Hajibeyli, Tofig Gouliyev, Fikret Amirov, Shafiga Akhundova and other composers, also popular songs and pieces of music composed to lyrics by Mahsati Ganjavi were performed, and rubaiyats of the poetess translated into the French languages were read.

 

After the concert, books with Mahsati Ganjavi’s rubaiyats in English and French translations were distributed to the audience.
