An exhibition devoted to the Azerbaijani game chovken at UNESCO

On 6 May 2015, opening of the exhibition devoted to chovken – Azerbaijan’s Garabagh horseback-played game - took place at UNESCO, with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Azerbaijan’s Permanent Representative Office under UNESCO.


Chovken – Azerbaijan’s Garabagh horseback-played game was entered on UNESCO’s List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Protection.

 

Presentation of the book “The Garabagh Horse” by French writer Jean-Luis Gouraud took place at the exhibition’s opening ceremony.

 

Deputy Director General of UNESCO for cultural affairs Alfredo Perez, permanent representatives accredited at UNESCO, representatives of the Secretariat, French public’s representatives and journalists joined the event.
