Mehriban Aliyeva met with Head of UNICEF Baku Office Mark Hereward

March 3, Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, met with Head of UNICEF Baku Office Mark Hereward.

Welcoming the guest to the Foundation, Mehriban Aliyeva said she supports UNICEF`s activity in Azerbaijan. The First Lady noted the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and UNICEF maintain good contacts and the major goal of both institutions is care to children. She pointed out care for children is the priority of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s activity.

Mentioning several successful projects accomplished together with UNICEF, Mrs Aliyeva expressed hope for implementation of new ones in the future.

Head of UNICEF Baku Office Mark Hereward said there is room for expanding cooperation in a number of fields between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and UNICEF, adding some projects are scheduled to be implemented in the future.

Mehriban Aliyeva said the Foundation is ready to implement new projects jointly with UNICEF. The First Lady noted the Foundation has prepared new projects for people with hereditary blood diseases, adding cooperation with UNICEF in the field is possible. The first measure the Foundation will take in this direction is enlightenment of population and for this purpose it has prepared videos, books and visual aids.
