Mehriban Aliyeva met with People’s Artist Alim Gasymov and Sabina Babayeva
First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva met with People’s Artist Alim Gasymov and Sabina Babayeva, who represented Azerbaijan in the Eurovision-2012 song contest held in May in Baku, July 10.
Congratulating Alim Gasymov and Sabina Babayeva on their successful performance in the contest’s final, Mehriban Aliyeva said: “You have represented our culture at a high level, which is attested by both your performances and the high place you were honoured according to the results of the contest”.
Mehriban Aliyeva emphasized that the 57th Eurovision song contest was organized in our country at a high level, and it was still on the world press agenda. The First Lady noted that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was the initiator of our country’s participation in this contest. Saying the Foundation has always wished Azerbaijan were worthily represented in the Eurovision song contest, Mehriban Aliyeva emphasized that our country achieved this progress in a short time span. The Foundation’s president underlined that Azerbaijan had always won high places at Eurovision contests.
Once more congratulating People’s Artist Alim Gasymov and Sabina Babayeva, Mehriban Aliyeva said this contest will provide ample opportunities for them in their future activities.
