President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva meet with former director general of UNESCO Koïchiro Matsuura

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO Mehriban Aliyeva met with former director general of UNESCO Koïchiro Matsuura, October 10.

The former director general of UNESCO underlined importance of the Baku International Humanitarian Forum. He said very important humanitarian initiatives have been carried out in Azerbaijan in recent years. Matsuura described the participation of prominent scientists and public figures at the Forum as an international interest to the event.

President Ilham Aliyev, in turn, expressed satisfaction with his meeting with Matsuura again in Azerbaijan. He described the Baku International Humanitarian Forum as an important event, adding Azerbaijan had already become the center of international humanitarian initiatives.
