Mehriban Aliyeva met with delegation led by Secretary General of INTERPOL Ronald Noble

Azerbaijan`s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva met with delegation led by Secretary General of INTERPOL Ronald Noble, 22 November. 


The delegation was informed about the goals and activities of the Foundation.


The delegation was told the main goal of the Foundation is to study national leader Heydar Aliyev`s rich heritage, suggest national statehood ideas to new generations. The Foundation performs health, educational, social and cultural projects.


The delegates saw exhibits and photos taken from the archive of the great leader and reflecting various moments of his activity.


Ronald Noble signed the Foundation`s Guest Book.


Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva said this year Azerbaijan marks the 20th anniversary of the restoration of its independence. She underlined Azerbaijan gained great achievements during these years and has grown into the leader in the region. She added the country is rapidly developing in all fields.


M.Aliyeva noted Azerbaijan is a safe country with a low crime rate. The First Lady underscored Azerbaijan has become a member of INTERPOL in 1992. She said the state and government bodies have close cooperation with INTERPOL.


Mrs. Aliyeva spoke of the activity of the Foundation, adding the Foundation was created in 2004. She expressed hope “we can establish cooperation in the future as a non-governmental organization”, noting the Heydar Aliyev Foundation cooperates with international organizations such as UN, UNESCO, UNICEF and ISESCO.


Ronald Noble said Azerbaijan is an exemplary country in terms of security, adding he is aware of Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s activities. Mentioning the Foundation’s experience in holding cultural events, he suggested holding joint cultural events with Azerbaijan in the future.


Ronald Noble presented memorial medal “For contribution to the creation of safer world”, INTERPOL founded this year, to Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva.

 

Ronald Noble said Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva is the first recipient of the medal in the world.
