Inauguration of the Baku French Lycée takes place

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of the Baku French Lycée, September 12.


Constructed on the territory of Baku White City, the Lycée is designed for 320 pupils. All conditions have been created in the Lycée, with 14 thousand square metres of  area.


With inclusion of preschool training course, primary education and college-lycée groups will operate at this education establishment. 100 pupils will be studying at the Lycée in the current school year.


With establishment supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Lycée will provide 12-year secondary education based on the classic French education plan, starting with kindergarten. The education program will be implemented in the French language, complying with the requirements of the French education system. A certificate to be issued to pupils upon finishing the lycée will meet the standards and requirements of the French National Education Ministry and will be recognized by the Ministry. School leavers will have a chance to continue their education at any higher education establishment according to their choice. 


Foundation of the Lycee has been laid in accordance with the Agreement "On Creation of a French Lycee in Baku between the Governments of Azerbaijan and France" signed within the framework of French President Nicolas Sarkozy's official visit to Baku in October 2011.
