Mehriban Aliyeva attended the presentation of the film “Targeting Baku. How Hitler Lost the Battle for Oil”

Presentation of the film “Targeting Baku. How Hitler Lost the Battle for Oil”, produced with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, took place at the Heydar Aliyev Center, May 4.

 

Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva attended the presentation ceremony.

 

The head of the project devoted to the 70th anniversary of victory over the fascism is Arzu Aliyeva; producer of the film is Louis Vaudeville and director Robert Mugnerot.

Then the film was shown.

 

The objective of shooting the film “Targeting Baku. How Hitler Lost the Battle for Oil” was to show Azerbaijani people’s role in securing victory over the fascism to the whole world and, at the same time, convey historical truth to future generations.

 

With the timing of 52 minutes, the plotline of the film is about the role of our people in the Victory over the fascism, as well as the strategic importance of the Azerbaijani oil during the years of war.

 

The film’s shooting has been performed by the Baku Media Centre and “Clarke Costelle&Co” (CC&C), a French company well known in the world as a producer of documentary. The film “The Apocalypse: The World War 2nd”, which talks about the World War 2nd, made by this company was seen by over 1 billion people in 171 countries.

 

While working on the documentary “Targeting Baku”, which took  14 months to shoot, 200-hour video material, as well as numerous photos and other documents were examined in archives of Azerbaijan, Germany, USA, Great Britain, France and Russia.

 

In the film, the history of the World War 2nd is looked at from completely new standpoint – a battle for oil.  Reflecting different scenes of war, so far not shown, the video material is presented in a restored colour format.

 

This screened work has been translated into the Russian, English, French, German, Italian and other language, along with Azerbaijani.

 

On May 8, 9 and 10, the film will be shown on National Geographic Channel, including France, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Denmark, Turkey, Spain, Slovenia, Balkan countries, African countries, Greece and other places.
