Teaching of the Azerbaijani language and literature starts in Bucharest with support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation

On February 28, teaching of the subject of Azerbaijani language and literature started at the Azerbaijan Research Centre, which is operating under the Romanian-American University, created with support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Bucharest.

 

The opening ceremony was attended by employees of the Representative Office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Romania, the management, academics and students of the Romanian-American University, as well as Azerbaijanis living in Romania.

 

Director of the Romanian Representative Office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Igbal Hajiyev thanked the management of the Romanian-American University for their support to the teaching of the Azerbaijani language and literature in Bucharest.

 

He informed the attendees of the Azerbaijani language, literature, culture and history, and expressed confidence that teaching of these subjects will strengthen the relations between these two nations further.

 

Head of the Romanian-American University’s international relations department Sherban Georgiesku thanked Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva for the support she provided to the University, and for the fruitful cooperation. He said Romanian students’ interest towards the Azerbaijani language and literature is a sign of developing relations between these two nations, and expressed a hope that such fruitful projects will continue. 

 

Teacher of the Azerbaijani language and literature of the Centre Shafaq Mammadova thanked Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva for such an opportunity created in Bucharest. She underlined that Romanian students show a great deal of interest towards the Azerbaijani culture, history, language and literature.

 

After the event was over, the first lesson of the Azerbaijani language commenced.
