President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva visits the Republican Gymnasium of Humanitarian Subjects named after A.S.Makarenko in Shuvalan settlement

On October 18, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Republican Gymnasium of Humanitarian Subjects named after A.S.Makarenko in Shuvalan settlement.

Mrs. Aliyeva cut the symbolic red ribbon and was presented flowers.

Familiarized with classrooms, gym and conference hall, the First Lady was informed that repaired as part of the Foundation’s Children Homes and Boarding Schools Development Programme, the facility has a teaching building, 2 dormitories, a canteen and secondary buildings. In the lobby there is a photo stand showing President Ilham Aliyev’s successful educational reforms, the care President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva renders to education, including the Gymnasium, as well national symbols.

The 700-seat gymnasium includes well-equipped 38 classrooms, multimedia and subject rooms, 2 computer classes, chemistry and physics labs, a rich library containing textbooks, the world, verbal folk and contemporary literature. 611 pupils attend the Gymnasium at present.

The yard includes football pitch with artificial turf, also basketball and volleyball pitches, various sports equipments.

Member of the Parliament Mehriban Aliyeva familiarized herself with the dormitory. Two dormitory buildings have in total 48 bedrooms, out-of-school classrooms, medical station and recreation corners. 150 people live currently at the dormitory.
