A ceremony of opening of a girls’ school named after President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva was held

A ceremony of opening of  a girls’ school named after President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva constructed in Pakistan’s Muzaffarabad city in 2007 by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and essentially repaired in 2012 was held, September 18.


Pakistan’s Minister of Education Sadig Dar, Information and Broadcasting Minister Bazil Nakvi, Secretary of Emergency Situations Sardar Rahim Khan, MP Sadaf Sheikh, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Dashgyn Shikarov, as well as representatives of mass media attended the ceremony.


After the opening ceremony, participants of the event viewed the territory, classrooms, library, laboratory of the school and expressed gratitude with the conditions created here.


Ambassador Dashgyn Shikarov gave comprehensive information about large-scale projects implemented by President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Azerbaijan and Pakistan, as well as in other foreign countries, and noted that the school was essentially repaired and its territory extended.


The Ambassador noted that 5 honours pupils of the school have been allocated a stipend by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.


Pakistan’s Minister of Education Sadig Dar recalled that Azerbaijan was one of the first countries that provided aid to Pakistan after the earthquake occurred in 2005, and underlined that a modern school for 500 pupils was constructed in the place of the previous 150-pupil school. Sadiq Dar expressed his deep gratitude to Mehriban Aliyeva for works done. Highly appreciating the care shown by the First Lady of Azerbaijan to the people of Pakistan, especially to children, Sadiq Dar   brought to the attention of participants the decision of the state bodies of Pakistan to name the school after Mehriban Aliyeva.


At the end of the event, every schoolchild was presented on behalf of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation a schoolbag full of school accessories, books published by the Embassy in Islamabad and two computers.
