The French media is writing about the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s activity – its projects in the field of culture and the truth about Garabagh

“Beaux Arts”, a famous culture magazine of France, has written about the activity of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and  Vice-president of the Foundation Leyla Aliyeva aimed at delivering the truth about Azerbaijan to the world community. Drawing attention to the project “Azerbaijan in Cannes” held during July 4th to July 7th in Cannes with organizational support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the magazine writes that thanks to the numerous events promoting Azerbaijan’s rich culture, the Croisette Boulevard has turned the colours of treasures of the Caucasus. “Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, artist Leyla Aliyeva is the focus of these events. If the art is a mirror of the heart, Leyla Aliyeva is the face of her people. She is an energetic, creative person always in search. This young lady was born in 1985 in the family  of President Ilham Aliyev and Azerbaijan’s First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva. She has been in the first rank in all the direction of the Foundation’s activity. In addition to devoting herself to her family, Leyla Aliyeva has been supporting a number of significant charitable and environmental projects in her country. Being also the initiator of the “Justice to Khojaly” public campaign, she set herself as an object to deliver the truth about the genocide committed on 26th February  1992 by Armenian armed forces against the civilians in the Khojaly town of Azerbaijan. Leyla Aliyeva has particularly devoted herself to the art. Always cheerful and positive, Leyla Aliyeva easily handles different projects. Making efforts towards promotion of the Azerbaijani art, she has been one of the leading persons in this sphere.”

Writing about the main objective of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, “Beaux Arts”  writes further that founded in 2004 with the objective of preserving the cultural values of Azerbaijan and promoting them in the world, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation is the biggest non-governmental and non-commercial organization of the country. The Foundation’s activity is based on humanitarian projects, as well as projects aimed to develop the fields of education, healthcare and science.

Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva is one of the key persons in contemporary art in her country. She has received an influential academic education. Leyla Aliyeva studied at London’s Queen’s College and the European Business School, one of the larges colleges of Paris. And the project “Flight to Baku” has brought together some 100 works of more than 20 artists, and this modern art exhibition has been supported by Leyla Aliyeva. Works of the exhibition have been demonstrated from Paris to Vienna, from Moscow to Rome and from Berlin to London.

This young lady has printed some of her paintings in “Baku” magazine and has been the author of monumental works’ design. She is the author of the heart-shaped statue “Brain”, which resembles the grandiose work of Niki de Saint Phalle.

It’s been mentioned in the article that this summer the French audience will have a chance to see the world of Azerbaijan. In June, numerous exhibitions representing this country are being held    in Croisette Boulevard in the city of Cannes. Located between the West and East civilizations, this republic withdrew from the USSR in 1991 and regained its independence. Well-known persons of art are demonstrating their works during this week, and this, in turn, gives a chance to be plunged in a rich world of art.
