Presentation of the two-volume book “Mehriban Aliyeva: Following the Path of Prosperity and Progress” took place in Baku, July 18.
Organized by the State Committee for Family, Woman and Child Issues jointly with the New Azerbaijan Party, the ceremony was attended by state and government officials, deputies of the Milli Majlis, well-known persons of science and culture.
The book’s scientific editor and author of the idea is rector of the Azerbaijan Teachers Institute, deputy of the Milli Majlis, doctor of political sciences, professor Agiya Nakhchivanly, and its scientific advisor is head of the Faculty of Social and Pedagogical Psychology of the Baku State University, doctor of psychology, professor Kamila Aliyeva.
The two-volume book contains materials associated with the works carried out by Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva towards developing the education and culture in the country, high-level representation of Azerbaijan on the international arena, and her benevolent activity.
Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Woman and Child Issues Hijran Huseynova said Mehriban Aliyeva was an example for contemporary Azerbaijani women both by her public, political and benevolent activity and also her scientific creativity.
The chairperson of the Committee talked about the works done by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation - headed by Mehriban Aliyeva - towards preserving national spiritual values, protecting woman and child rights, and the projects implemented in the field of science, education, culture, healthcare, sports, environment etc. According to her, the book touches upon the works carried out by the Foundation towards conveying the true facts about the Daghlyg Garabagh conflict and genocide acts committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis.
Deputy prime minister, People’s writer Elchin Afandiyev, President of the Academy of National Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANSA), academician Akif Alizadeh, head of the Faculty of Social and Pedagogical Psychology of the Baku State University, professor Kamila Aliyeva, deputy of the Milli Majlis, Director of the Nizami Literature Museum under ANSA, Academician Rafael Huseynov, chairperson of the Azerbaijan Composers Union, People’s Artist, professor Firangiz Alizadeh, rector of the Azerbaijan Teachers Institute, deputy of the Milli Majlis, doctor of political sciences, professor Agiya Nakhchivanly delivered a speech at the event.
In conclusion, Hijran Huseynova once more emphasized the significance of the book, and called this publication as a valuable source to get more closely acquainted with the large-scale activity and humanist mission of Mehriban Aliyeva.
