Uzeir Hajibeyli 7th International Music Festival comes to an end

Held with joint organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Uzeir Hajibeyli 7th International Music Festival came to an end, September 28.

 

At the Festival’s closing ceremony, works by K.M. Weber and L.V. Beethoven were performed by the Uzeir Hajibeyli Azerbaijan State Symphonic Orchestra. Directed by Honoured Person of Art Fakhraddin Karimov, the Orchestra’s soloist was Russian pianist Andrey Shibko.

 

Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev attended the last concert of the Festival.

 

International music festivals held in our country each year, starting from 2009, in memory of eminent composer, founding father of Azerbaijan’s professional music Uzeir Hajibeyli, have had a great resonance. Eminent musicians, artistic groups, soloists and conductors participated in the festival concerts.

 

Well-known musicians and groups from Turkey, Russia, Latvia, Estonia, Syria, Italy and Canada participated, alongside those from Azerbaijan, at the 7th International Music Festival, devoted to the 130th anniversary of Uzeir Hajibeyli. In total, over 30 events were held during the Festival days - from 18th to 28th September. At these events, arranged at different cultural establishments of the capital, music-lovers listened to works by well-known local and world composers, along with those of Uzeir Hajibeyli.
