Regional Development Public Union’s regional centre is established in Guba

The Guba regional centre of the Regional Development Public Union (RDPU), established following the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative, started to function. It was mentioned at a meeting held in Guba that the organization’s activity on the northern region will cover Guba, Gusar, Khachmaz, Siyazan and Shabran districts, and the regional centre will operate in Guba town. 

RDPU chairperson Mahammad Abdullayev, giving information about the organization’s duties, said the public union’s objective was implementing more active projects in the country’s public, political, social and cultural lives, as well as building a civil society, and providing extensive support to reforms being performed, including events carried out by the state on the development of the regions. Finding out the problems facing the population in such spheres as science, education, healthcare, sports, environment, social security, culture, tourism, development of entrepreneurship etc., providing support to building mutual dialogue and cooperation between citizens and state bodies concerned aiming at their solution, and ensuring the flow of information are among the primary duties of the union. It was noted that, based on the outcome of the analysis conducted, the reason why a number of problems of citizens remain unsolved stems from the lack of intercourse between the citizens and state and municipal bodies concerned. RDPU will review appeals received from citizens on different areas and seek solution of the issues by bringing citizens and entities concerned together. 

Arranging and holding of events aiming at improving population’s living standards in the regions, increasing worldview and practical skills of the youth deprived of parental care, those in need of special care and with restricted health condition, improving conditions for their education and ensuring their active integration into the society are among the organization’s main activities. The public union will also hold events aiming to protect the environment, form and strengthen ecological consciousness and culture. RDPU will participate in developing programmes aiming to serve the development of entrepreneurship and tourism and will provide support to their execution and attach special importance to protecting and developing the ethnic and cultural diversity, multicultural and tolerant environment.

It was noted that RDUP’s activities will cover all districts, and consolidation of the district residents, especially the youth, around the organization as volunteers was underscored as important.
