Charitable actions on the occasion of Gurban Bayram in Pakistan

A charitable action was held at a children’s home in the city of Islamabad with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s President Mehriban Aliyeva in connection with Gurban Bayram, October 1.

 

Organized for over 800 residents from 6 children homes in the cities of Islamabad and Ravalpindi, the event was attended by members of the Pakistan-Azerbaijan interparliamental friendship group, employees of the Azerbaijani Embassy, journalists and representatives of the general public.

 

Director of Beyt-ul-Mal Children’s Home Abid Vahid Sheikh thanked for the care and attention shown towards Pakistani orphans. Abid Vahid Sheikh mentioned that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been providing regular support to Beyt-ul-Mal Children’s Home since 2012.

 

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Dashgyn Shikarov congratulated the attendees of the event on behalf of Mehriban Aliyeva on the upcoming Gurban Bayram. He noted that sacrificial animals will be cut during 6 to 8 October on behalf of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and distributed to people that have suffered from floods in Pakistan.

 

Presents were given at the event to residents of children’s homes operating in the cities of Islamabad and Ravalpindi, and a dinner was arranged for children. At the end of the ceremony, musical and entertainment programmes were organized for children.

 

Then, attendees of the event  got acquainted with the reconstruction works carried out by the Pakistani Government and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation at the children’s home.

A number of other actions were held on the occasion of Gurban Bayram in Lakki Marwat and Dera Ismail Khan provinces of Pakistan, where refugees have settled, and in a number of cities of the Punjab province suffered from floods.

 

Delivering a speech at a ceremony organized in Lakki Marwat region, Pakistan’s well-known politician, senator Salim Seyfullah Khan thanked Mehriban Aliyeva for sharing the distress of internally displaced people.

 

Being a guest at a ceremony in Dera Ismail Khan region of the same province, former deputy chairperson of Pakistani National Assembly, member of the Pakistan-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group Feisal  Karim Kundi  too thanked Mehriban Aliyeva for the attention shown towards the region’s population and internally displaced people. He gave information about the “Heydar Aliyev Water Supply System” constructed by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in this region, and talked about other project implemented for internally displaced people. Feisal Karim Kundi has appreciated all these as a sign of brotherly relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

 

The events were attended by well-known public and political persons and intelligentsia from Multan and Okarada districts of Punjab province that had suffered from floods.

 

Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Dashgyn Shikarov congratulated on behalf of Mehriban Aliyeva the attendees of the event on Gurban Bayram and talked about the projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in foreign countries.

 

During the holiday events, sacrificial animals were cut and distributed to poor people.
