The Heydar Aliyev Foundation is restoring the Holy Roman catacomb

Italian newspaper La Republica has published information that the restoration of the Holy Roman catacombs being carried out at the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative will be completed in April.

 

In the article, it is stated that starting with April this year, the Holy Roman catacombs will be declared open to pilgrims and tourists visiting the Vatican. “Restoration of the Holy Roman catacombs complex - covering the territory of 18 thousand square metres - by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation is contribution made by the Muslim world to this significant monument of the Christian world.” – is said in the article.

 

The text of the gratitude expressed by Secretary of the Roman Pontiff’s Holy Archaeology Council Giovanni Carru to the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and President of the Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva for their contribution to the restoration of the catacombs has also been included in the article.
