Uzeir Hajibeyli 15th International Music Festival to be held
Uzeir Hajibeyli 15th International Music Festival will be organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture, September 18 to 28.
Concerts, shows, exhibitions, scientific conferences, master classes and other events are expected to take place both in the open air and at various places in Baku, Ganja, Shamkir and Shusha, within the framework of the Festival.
Having been held since 2009, on the first day of the Uzeir Hajibeyli International Music Festival, which coincides with the National Music Day, September 18, the opera “Leyli and Majnun” will be shown by the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre of Azerbaijan in Shusha, in the open air. Moreover, a festive concert will be presented by the State Wind Instruments Orchestra of Azerbaijan on the Fountain Square. And, on the evening of the same day, the ballet “Legend of Love” by People’s Artist Arif Melikov will be shown at the Heydar Aliyev Palace, in his home city, after long years of pause.
This year, the Uzeir Hajibeyli 15th International Music Festival will be remembered also by special projects for juveniles and youth. So, the united Popular Music Instruments Orchestra comprised of 200 students from the State Child Philharmonic of Azerbaijan and child music schools of Baku city will perform in the park of the Heydar Aliyev Center, and artistic programmes will be organized with participation of young talents. During the Festival days, vocal works of Uzeir Hajibeyli will be performed by famous singers in a karaoke format at specially allocated places in large trade centres of Baku, and anyone will be able to join the karaoke.
On the days of Festival, joined by well-known musicians and music groups from USA, France, Georgia, Croatia, Russia, Singapore and other countries, various programmes will be presented at the State Academic Philharmonic of Azerbaijan named after Muslim Magomayev, the National Museum of Art of Azerbaijan, the International Mugham Centre, the Chamber and Organ Music Hall of the State Academic Philharmonic of Azerbaijan, the Opera Studio of the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeir Hajibeyli etc.
