Registration starts for the Baku Marathon 2024 to be held on May 5th on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation
The Baku Marathon 2024 will be held on May 5th on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Registration to participate in the marathon will take place in the course of March 1st to April 25th. Those aged over 18 may participate in the competition. Registration for the marathon will be carried out at registration points at trade centres of Baku (28 Mall, Ganjlik Mall, Deniz Mall), as well as through online registration on the website www.marathon.az.
The amount to be paid by natural persons willing to participate in the competition during the registration is 20 AZN. Those joining the marathon as a corporate may apply by writing to the email [email protected]. For corporate applications (with minimum 5 participants from each organization), 100 AZN should be paid for each participant. As the payment associated with students’ participation in the marathon will be covered by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, they should not pay any amount while getting registered.
Having been organized since 2016, the traditional Baku marathon aims at supporting sports’ development, and promote healthy lifestyle. Held under the slogan “Win the Wind”, the semi-marathon covers a distance of 21 kilometres.
Start and finish points of this marathon too will be at the State Flag Square. The itinerary of the marathon is: the State Flag Square – the Seaside Boulevard – the Baku International Seaport – Neftchiler Avenue – the Baku White City Boulevard – Khagani Rustamov Street – the Baku White City Boulevard - 8th November Street, part of Yusif Safarov Street – the cross-section of Afiyaddin Jalilov and Uzeir Hajibeyli streets, Uzeir Hajibeyli Street passing through the Javanshir Bridge - Neftchiler Avenue, the Bail Square, moving along the Bibiheybat Road (Water Sport Palace) and the Seaside Boulevard (behind the Water Sport Palace, Baku Chrystal Hall) – the State Flag Square.
Awarding for Baku Marathon 24 will take place in two categories. In each of the men and women categories, the winner of the 1st place will be rewarded with 3,000 AZN, while the winners of the 2nd and 3rd places will receive 2,000 AZN and 1,000 AZN respectively, along with presents, medals and certificates. All participants of the marathon and the volunteers providing support in the organization of the marathon will be presented certificates.
An entertainment zone will be arranged for the marathon participants, city residents and guests of the city at the State Flag Square. Here will be held various entertainment programmes, contests, and sports events.
Azercell Telecom Company is the exclusive partner of the Baku Marathon 2024. The marathon is being organised with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, SOCAR, the Seaside Boulevard Administration and the Regional Development Public Association (RDPA). The project is being implemented by Sport Marketing Group (SMG) Company.
