4th International Mugham Contest is finalized

Held by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Composers Union within the Mugham World 4^th International Mugham Festival, the 4^th International Mugham Contest, held at the Azerbaijan National Conservatoire, was finalized on March 17.    

Two persons were awarded the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd places on solo mugham performance, one person was awarded the 1^st and 3^rd places on instrumental mugham performance and two persons were awarded the 2^nd place. Three participants were conferred on a special award of the contest. This time, there was no Grand-Prix at the contest.

Musicians from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Jordan, Latvia, Iran, Iraq, Tajikistan and China participated in the contest. Performances of the participants were assessed by an international jury chaired by Siyavush Karimi. 

Awarding of winners of the contest will take place on March 18 at the closing ceremony of the Mugham World 4^th International Mugham Festival and will be followed by a gala-concert with their participation.
