A photo-exhibition entitled “Dancer in Baku” by architect and photographer of Roman descent Simon Gerrans opens in Baku

A photo-exhibition entitled “Dancer in Baku” by architect and photographer of Roman descent Simon Gerrans opens in the Modern Art Museum with support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Heydar Aliyev Center.  

 

Director of the Museum Khayyam Abdinov talked about the significance of the exhibition and underscored that part of the photos being displayed here were taken in Baku. 

 

It was noted that the author’s objective was to show the architectural form of the “perfect space” and unique features of the territory through the universal language of dance.

 

Addressing the event, the author said, along with Baku, he took his photos also in other cities of Europe – Madrid, London, Rome, Berlin and Saint Petersburg. He said characters that dancers from various countries, companies and academies pictured during trainings and lessons, in lobbies, and in places in historical importance and architectural styles are given preference at the exhibition. 

 

The exhibition “Dancer in Baku” is a part of an extensive photo-project going on during the last 6 year. Works of the author are demonstrated in and outside Europe within the framework of the project.
