Novruz Holiday celebrated in Bucharest due to support of Embassy of Azerbaijan in Romania and Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s representation in the country

Novruz Holiday was celebrated in Bucharest March 21 due to support of Embassy of Azerbaijan in Romania and Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s representation in the country.


Mentioning the special place of Novruz Holiday for Azeri people, Ambassador Eldar Hasanov valued it as a holiday personifying the whole reality of Azerbaijani nation. He noted March 21 was declared International Novruz Day upon resolution ‘International Novruz Day’ initiated by Azerbaijan and adopted at UN General Assembly. E.Hasanov appreciated works done in states celebrating the holiday towards protection and development of cultural heritage and traditions, noting the origin and history of the holiday should be studied and delivered to the international community. 

 

Comprehensive information on Novruz Holiday was provided in the event, which was enriched with concert by soloist of Azerbaijan State Mugham Theater Sadagat Guluyeva and a music group accompanying her, and well-known Romanian musician Marchel Pavel.

 

Romanian Premier Emil Bok, First Speaker of the parliament Ioan Oltean, Aide to the Romanian President for National Security Affairs Yulian Fota, figures of religion, culture and art, ambassadors and diplomats, employees of Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s representation in the country, members of Romania-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, Romania-Azerbaijan Trade Chamber, employees of Romania Office of SOCAR, Azeris living and studying in Romania were present in the celebration.

 

A solemn Novruz celebration was arranged March 20 by Iranian Azeris living in Romania with participation of singer Sadagat Guluyeva.
