A series of events have been held in Pakistan with support from Mehriban Aliyeva, the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, on the occasion of Gurban Bayram

A series of events have been held in connection with Gurban Bayram with support from Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva in Faizabad, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore cities of Pakistan’s Punjab province, as well as in severely damaged by an earthquake Balochistan province.


The ceremony organized at Ancumen Faiz Ul Islam  (AFUI) Children’s Home in the city of Faizabad of Punjab province, in which over 400 orphans have found shelter, was attended by Chairman of Pakistani Senate’s Healthcare, Orders and Coordination Committee, senator Zafar Ali Shah, senators Saida Igbal, Nuzhat Sadig, Najma Hamid, deputy of the National Assembly Tahira Ourangzeyb, head of the Senate’s Administration Iftiharulla Babar, AFUI President Mian Sadig Akbar, First Vice-president Aziz Hashimi, the intelligentsia, public and political persons and mass media representatives.


Addressing the ceremony, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Dashgyn Shikarov delivered Mehriban Aliyeva’s congratulation on Gurban Bayram to participants and talked of the projects implemented by the First Lady in Azerbaijan and foreign countries.


Senators Zafar Ali Shah, Saida Igbal and AFUI President Mian Sadig Akbar thanked Mehriban Aliyeva for the attention shown towards the Pakistani people. They appreciated the care and attention by Azerbaijan’s First Lady towards orphans as a sign of humanism, her loyalty to the Islamic values, as well as contribution to the relations between our peoples.


Head of the Pakistani Senate’s Administration Iftiharulla Babar talked of the projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Azerbaijan and various countries of the world.


At the end, each child sheltered in Ancumen Faiz Ul Islam Home was presented a gift on behalf of Mehriban Aliyeva.


At a ceremony organized in “SOS Village” in the city of Lahore, in which 500 orphans are sheltered, President of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Foundation, graduate of the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy Naman Zafar Choudri talked about Azerbaijan.


At a ceremony organized in Dera Murad Jamali district ofBalochistan province, Chairman of the parliament of Balochistan Mir Jan Jamali highly appreciated the holding of such an action in an economically lagged province, which suffered from the devastating earthquake on September 24th and regularly encountered terror, and said this was a sign of true friendship and brotherhood relation. He noted that this event  was not only the source of material but also moral support for residents of a region being in difficult material condition and under constant peril.   

 

Over 200 sacrificial cows and sheep were cut and distributed among orphanages and elderly homes during the events held in various regions of Pakistan.
