Representatives of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation pay a visit to the boarding home for war and labour veterans in Bilgah

Following the tradition, representatives of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation met, July 3, inhabitants of the boarding home for war and labour veterans in Bilgah settlement.

 

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been having regular meetings with the elderly, along with inhabitants of children’s homes, boarding schools, people in need of special care, and enquiring about their needs.

 

The state has been taking care of the elderly, and showing delicate attention towards their social problems has always been a focus of attention. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation has made its own contribution to the works being done and projects implemented by the state in this field. This care and attention is obviously felt at the boarding home for war and labour veterans in Bilgah settlement of Baku.

 

Regular visits by President of the Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva and Vice-president Leyla Aliyeva to this establishment and their sincere talks with people of this type, paying attention to their problems one more testifies to this.

 

This time’s visit by representatives of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to the boarding home was remembered with a spirit of festivity.

 

The boarding home for war and labour veterans in Bilgah settlement has been functioning since the 60s of the last century. In 1998, national leader Heydar Aliyev visited this boarding home, talked with veterans. In 2013, the boarding home was given a second life. Opening of a new building of the boarding home took place with participation of President Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva. 225 veterans are residing here at the moment. All conditions have been created at the boarding home to make sure that they feel here cosy, like in their own home. Following Mehriban Aliyeva’s initiative, meetings are held with the elderly, veterans of war, their health condition is kept under control, and various actions are taken for people of this category. Such actions include arranging diagnosis of the elderly at health establishments, and holding concerts and festivities for them.
