The volume presented, also “Aliyev’s reading” in Baku itself was the result of the decision adopted in the international conference “Interaction of cultures in globalization” dedicated to the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev. After the first conference held in June 2009 at the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Volkhonka, Moscow it became clear that disputes of Azerbaijani and Russian philosophers on the interaction of cultures in our time should continue and the problem of interaction and dialogue is linked to the dream of the two nations to understand each other better, come closer.”

According to her, interaction and dialogue of cultures, role of science in society predetermine development of economy and policy. For this reason, it was decided to hold Baku Forum in June 2010 under the title “Aliyev`s reading”. The Foundation develops the heritage of national leader Heydar Aliyev, his ideas of culture, humanitarian development and science. Of course, the Foundation functions for the development of Azerbaijan’s culture, helps understanding of the Azerbaijan values in the world, but it all is possible when the significance of the universal culture is understood in the country. Therefore, the Foundation tries to bring the universal and Azerbaijani cultures together.
