Event was held in Paris on the 17th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation

Event was held February 27 at Napoleon Hall of Westin Hotel in Paris on the 17th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy by Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to UNESCO and France-Azerbaijan Friendship Association due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

 

Prior to the event, attendees were familiarized with exhibition of books and booklets published in English and French by Heydar Aliyev Foundation to provide the world public with information on realities of Azerbaijan and Khojaly genocide, paintings by children, articles posted on the foreign press.

 

Opening the event Head of Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to UNESCO Ambassador Eleonora Huseynova talked of disasters our people, which loves music, culture and art, underwent in the previous century, occupation of 20% of our territory by Armenians, unprecedented massacre committed against civilians in Khojaly City of Azerbaijan, commemoration of this big tragedy by our nation every February.  

 

The Ambassador noted ‘Justice to Khojaly’ international campaign is underway in a number of countries on the initiative of Chief Coordinator of OIC Youth Forum for Intercultural Dialogue Leila Aliyeva and due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, calling participants to join the campaign.

 

In the event was shown a documentary about the genocide committed by vandal Armenian troops in Khojaly over the night from 25 to 26 February that deeply saddened participants.

 

Musical compositions dedicated to the memory of Khojaly martyrs were played in the end.
