Education institutions constructed and basically repaired by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Ganja, Samukh and Ujar are inaugurated

Recent years, the education in Azerbaijan has been in a new era of development. Care shown by President Ilham Aliyev and projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation testify to the National Leader’s education policy’s successful continuation. One of the most successful results in the Azerbaijani education is that construction of schools has been carried out on a wide range. As mentioned in an address by the head of the state on the occasion of the start of the new school year and the Day of Knowledge, construction of 147 schools is planned this year across the country. Majority of them are ready by the Day of Knowledge.

 

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation has always shown care and attention towards the development of the education sphere - which is defined as one of the key and necessary areas of Azerbaijan’s social and economic development - implementing measures that were of significant importance to this field. The Foundation has successfully implemented such programmes as “New school to renewed Azerbaijan” “Boarding Schools Development” and “Support for Education”, in general, a series of projects of exclusive importance from the perspective of state interests.

 

The main goal set by the Foundation with regard to education is to develop this sphere in Azerbaijan and raise it to an international level. As a result of implementing the project “New schools to renewed Azerbaijan”, schools meeting up-to-date requirements were constructed in even the most remote regions of the country and provided with all necessary teaching means. Much success has been accomplished in the construction modern type schools, creating normal conditions etc.

 

Following the initiative and with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, 62 education institutions were constructed and basically repaired in the country, including Baku, Ganja and Mingachevir cities, as well as in various districts, placing at the disposal of teachers and pupils.

 

Ganja

 

On September 15th - the Day of Knowledge, Assistant to the Azerbaijani President, Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov, Education Minister Emin Amrullayev, head of the Ganja City Executive Authority Niyazi Bayramov first visited the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev in the centre of Ganga city, and laid bunches of flowers before it.

 

Then, the Sports Lyceum, basically reconstructed by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, was viewed. A photo-stand with photos reflecting the care and attention shown by the National Leader towards sports is presented in the foyer of the sports lyceum.

 

Four-storied new building of the sports lyceum was constructed by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The lyceum, which is designed for 360 students, accommodates 18 classrooms. A wrestling hall, football and basketball pitches, an assembly hall and a canteen function in the newly commissioned education establishment.  

 

Anar Alakbarov, mentioning that sports, in particular, wrestling, had great traditions in Ganja, and Ganja sportsmen have reached great achievements both in the republic and on an international level, expressed his confidence that benefiting from the conditions created in the sports lyceum,  the youth would reach new achievements in the future and worthily defend our country’s honour of sports.

 

Samukh

 

Assistant to the Azerbaijani President, Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov visited also Samukh district. Here were commissioned the buildings of the Sarkar village Secondary School named after Nizami Ganjavi, and the Sarkar village nursery-kindergarten. At the opening ceremony, which took place complying with the quarantine requirements, was also attended by head of the Samukh district Executive Authority Ali Gojayev, and the school and kindergarten staffs.

 

Anar Alakbarov conveyed the greetings of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, and their congratulations on the commencement of the new school year.

 

Additional buildings were constructed in 1936, 1959 and 1968 for the school building, which was originally constructed in 1923, taking into account the growing need for a space. Last repair works in the school building was performed in 2004, and, due to shortage of classrooms, teaching was conducted in two shifts so far. The school building had been worn out in the course of past years, becoming useless.  

 

Construction of the new school building, intended for 800 pupils, was launched by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in 2019, completing it in August 2020.

 

Three-storied, consisting of five buildings, the school building boasts 39 classrooms, laboratories for physics, chemistry and biology, two informatics rooms, military training and first aid rooms, labour training rooms for both boys and girls, a wardrobe, a library, a canteen, assembly and sports halls, and open-air sports grounds. The school has been provided with necessary furniture and equipment, with the subject rooms and laboratories being provided with visual teaching means.

 

Improvement and greenery planting works were performed in the yard.

 

Director of the school Afag Moeylayeva thanked, on behalf of the teaching staff, pupils and parents, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva for their cate and attention shown towards education, and its advancement.

 

Assistant to the President Anar Alakbarov noted that in its activities, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has always paid necessary attention to education, contributing to its development by implementing various projects and programmes in this sphere. The Foundation has been providing support for the construction of new schools and preschool education institutions. Being implemented on the Foundation’s initiative, the programme “New schools for renewed Azerbaijan” aims at construction of modern school buildings that would allow to build a teaching process on an up-to-date level. Schools constructed in the framework of the programme in the capital city and in various regions of the country are provided with state-of-the-art equipment, laboratories, rich libraries, a workshop, sports halls, vast grounds, visual teaching means, and computers.

 

While becoming familiar with the Sarkar village nursery-kindergarten, it was informed that the building was constructed in 1987. As the kindergarten, intended for 80 children, was in an emergency condition, it functioned for 40 children. The building was physically warned out in the past years and became useless. Construction of the new nursery-kindergarten by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation started in late 2019. The construction works were completed in August 2020.

 

The nursery-kindergarten, designed for a hundred children, accommodates sleeping and play rooms, sports and music halls, a kitchen, a canteen, a first aid room, and other administrative and technical rooms. The kindergarten has been provided with necessary furniture and equipment. Reconstruction and greenery planting works were performed in the kindergarten’s yard, and entertainment facilities installed.

 

Anar Alakbarov noted that tens of child institutions across the country were basically repaired within the framework of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s project “Development of children homes and boarding schools”, provided with new equipment, and additional subsidiary buildings were constructed, and utility conditions improved. The Foundation has, over the course of these years, made its contribution to construction and repair of new kindergartens, nurseries in the framework of the programme “Development of preschool education establishments”.

 

Thereafter, the buildings of Ziyadly village Secondary School named after Imadeddin Nasimi and a nursery-kindergarten were commissioned in Samukh district.

 

It was informed that Ziyadly village secondary school has operated in a building constructed in 1979. Last repair work on the building was performed in 2006. As the school building warn out in the following years, it fell into disrepair.

 

Basic repair of the 523-pupil school building by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation started in late 2019. The repair works were finished in August 2020. Two-storied, consisting of 4 buildings, the school building has been provided with necessary furniture and equipment, and subject rooms and laboratories with visual means.

 

A photo-stand was created in the foyer of the school, reflecting the care and attention shown by national leader Heydar Aliyev towards the advancement of education. The education establishment has 28 classrooms, physics, chemistry and biology laboratories, informatics, military training, first aid and labour training rooms, a library, a canteen and an assembly hall, a sports hall, and open-air sports ground. Improvement and greenery planting works were performed on the school’s territory.

 

While becoming acquainted with the Ziyadly village nursery-kindergarten, it was informed that the building was constructed in 1929. As the kindergarten, designed for 60 children, was in an emergency state, it functioned for 20 children. Over the course of the last years, the building fell into disrepair. Construction of the new building for the kindergarten by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation started in late 2019. The construction works were completed in August 2020.

 

The building is two-storied. The kindergarten accommodates sleeping and play rooms for children, sports and music halls, a kitchen, a canteen, a first aid room, and other administrative and technical rooms. The kindergarten has been provided with necessary furniture and equipment.

 

Reconstruction and greenery planting works were performed in the kindergarten’s yard, decorative shrubs and trees planted, child entertainment facilities installed, and summer houses built.

 

Ujar

 

On September 15th too, a series of education establishments were commissioned. One of them was the new building of the Garaboerk secondary school in Ujar district.

 

Assistant to the Azerbaijani President, Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov, together with head of the district’s executive authority Mansur Mammadov, visited the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev in the centre of the city, and laid a bunch of flowers before it.

 

Then, they became familiar with the new building of the school. It was informed that, constructed in 1978, the building had fallen into disrepair over the course of the past period. Construction of a new building for a 420-pupil school started by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in 2019. Commissioned in the new school year, the new school complex is two-storied, consisting of three buildings.  

 

The school has been provided with necessary furniture and equipment, and subject rooms and laboratories with necessary visual aids.

 

The two-storied 420-pupil school building accommodates 16 classrooms, physics, chemistry and biology laboratories, informatics, military training, first aid and labour training rooms, a library, a buffet, assembly and sports halls, as well as an open sports ground.

 

Improvement and greenery planting works were carried out in the school’s yard.

 

On the same day, inauguration of Ujar city Nursery-kindergarten No.6 took place too. Ujar city Nursery-kindergarten No.6 has been in operation since 1954. As the building had fallen into disrepair, a new kindergarten building was constructed by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Two-storied, designed for 80 children, the nursery-kindergarten accommodates sleeping and play rooms for children, sports and music halls, a kitchen, a canteen, a first aid room and other administrative and technical rooms.  

 

Reconstruction and greenery planting works were carried out in the kindergarten’s yard, and child entertainment facilities installed.  

 

There are up to 4500 schools in Azerbaijan at the moment. In the course of the last 17 years, some 3700 schools, altogether, were constructed and basically repaired in Azerbaijan. Moreover, in the last 2 to 3 years, construction of modular schools was launched in small villages. Construction of 60 modular schools started this year.

 

This school year stars under new conditions, in the period of a pandemic. Taking into account the existing condition, the school year 2020-2021 is organized in a new format.
