Free-of-charge eye examination is conducted in Gobu Park for IDPs

Following the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, tasked by First Vice-president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, a humanitarian healthcare action took place in the Goby Park Residential Complex developed in Garadagh District for IDPs. The action lasted two days.

 

Free-of-charge ophthalmological examination of some 300 IDPs were conducted, organized by the Baku Representative Office of Turkey’s Dunyagöz Hospitals Group, enjoying the support of the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced People.

 

The objection of the healthcare action was to discover problems of internally displaced people associated with vision, having examined them medically, and provide support in their solving. A staff of the hospital specialized in various ophthalmological diseases have conducted the examination. Those with vision problems have been prescribed treatment. Some of them were prescribe eyeglasses.

 

Internally displaced people were given information regarding the possibilities of treatment of more serious eye problems or those requiring surgical intervention at Dunyagöz, and relevant instructions given.  

 

Those IDP with serious eye diseases discovered will be granted concessions for a surgery at the Dunyagöz clinic.

 

The actions has been highly appreciated by the IDP. They thanked President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva for holding such humanitarian actions.  

 

It is expected that such actions would be held in other settlements where IDPs reside.
