A conference on the theme of “Azerbaijan- a model of successful development” is held in Romania

A conference on the theme of “Azerbaijan - a model of successful development” was held, November 21, with support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, at the Romanian-American University in Bucharest.

 

The Conference was attended by the management of the Romanian-American University,  academics and students of the university, employees of the Azerbaijani Embassy, representatives of the Romanian Representative Office of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic, members of the Azerbaijan-Romania Youth and Culture Association, the Azerbaijan-Romania Chamber of Trade, representatives of the Black Sea and Caspian Sea  International Cooperation and Partnership Foundation, as well as representatives of Azerbaijan, Turkish-Tatar communities living in Romania.

 

Rector of the Romanian-American University Ovidiu Folcut thanked the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Foundation’s President Mehriban Aliyeva for the care and attention shown towards this university.

 

The rector informed the participants of the Azerbaijan Research Centre operating at the university and called on the students to build close relationship with this centre.

 

Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s Romanian Representative Office Igbal Hajiyev talked of Azerbaijan’s history, culture, economy and rapid development in the country. He delivered a speech with an interactive presentation about the matchless services of national leader Heydar Aliyev towards defending Azerbaijan’s independence, strengthening its statehood, establishing stability in the country for a short period of time and commencing the process of development. I.Hajiyev talked also of the activity of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s Romanian Representative Office of.

 

Chairperson of the Bucharest Writers Association Horia Gârbea delivered a speech with an interactive presentation entitled “Azerbaijan through Romanian citizens’ eyes”. He talked of Azerbaijan’s history, culture, literature, development in the country and its becoming a leading state in the region. Horia Gârbea shared with the conference participants the impressions he gained from his trip to Azerbaijan. He talked also about the grave results of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Daghlyg Garabagh conflict.

 

Adviser to Azerbaijani Embassy in Romania Irfan Davudov provided information about the country’s foreign policy, and said the foundation of the achievements seen currently in Azerbaijan in political and economic spheres had been laid by national leader Heydar Aliyev.

 

Director of SOCAR’s Romanian Representative Office Hamza Karimov talked of the projects implemented at Azerbaijan’s initiative, and said, due to these projects, significant changes occurred on Europe’s energy map, along with that of the Caucasus and the Caspian region.

 

Professor of the university Florin Bonciu cited Azerbaijan’s dynamic development as an example for other countries, and emphasized that Azerbaijan had reached achievements even while the world was experiencing an economic crisis.
