91st anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev is marked in Bucharest

On May 9, an event was held on the occasion of the 91^st anniversary of Azerbaijani people’s national leader Heydar Aliyev in the Heydar Aliyev Alley located in the centre of Bucharest.

Employees of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Romania, representative offices of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan in Romania, members of the Romania-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, the Romania-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Romania-Azerbaijan Culture and Youth Association, representatives of the Turkish-Tatar Community, students honoured with Heydar Aliyev scholarship, and Azerbaijanis living and studying in this country.

Representative of Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Romania Tehran Shukurov talked about the merits of Heydar Aliyev in strengthening Azerbaijan’s statehood, establishing stability in the country, ensuring economic and social development, building a democratic state based on the rule of law, and a civil society, and strengthening Azerbaijan’s position in the region and throughout the world.

Then attendees of the event visited the Representative Office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Romania. Director of the Representative Office Igbal Hajiyev talked about Heydar Aliyev’s life and activity, and the Foundation’s multilateral humanitarian works. He said the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has always supported and showed care towards those in need, while carrying out task-oriented work towards conveying the truth about the Armenian-Azerbaijan and Daghlyg Garabagh conflict. The Foundation has been holding events and exhibitions in foreign countries, and publishes booklets and books in various languages.

At the end, the visitors got acquainted with the exhibition arranged at the Romanian Representative Office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and watched a documentary devoted to Heydar Aliyev.
