An assembly devoted to the 5th anniversary of the Regional Development Public Association takes place

On December 27th, an assembly of employees and volunteers of the Regional Development Public Association (RDPA) took place at the Heydar Aliyev Centre.

At the event, the State Anthem of Azerbaijan was performed by volunteers, the martyrs fallen for the liberation of our lands were remembered by a minute of silence, and a video film about RDPA’s activities and projects implemented by the Association was presented.

Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov read the congratulation letter by Azerbaijan’s First Vice-president, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva addressed to the attendees of the event in connection with the 5th anniversary of the Regional Development Public Association.

In the letter addressed by Azerbaijan’s First Vice-president, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, it is stated that the Regional Development Public Association has participated almost in all spheres of the social life of our country in the past 5 years. “Voluntariness” means continuing the traditions of charity characteristic of our people. You have been direct participants of immortalizing these traditions, and disinterested deeds for the good of our people. Thanks to such youth as yourselves, voluntariness has become a national movement, having penetrated a number of areas of activity.”- mentioned the president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. It is also noted in the letter that representatives of RDPA have shown an example of citizenship and patriotism during the 44-day Patriotic War, having supported the battle field, underscoring that there were also our martyrs among volunteers, thanking mothers who brought up courageous sons ready to sacrifice their lives for the Homeland.

In the letter addressed by Azerbaijan’s First Vice-president, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva to the employees and volunteers of RDPA is further mentioned: “Development works are underway in every corner of our country, of which territorial integrity was restored, including the territories liberated from the occupation, under the leadership of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. I am sure that the Regional Development Public Association would continue to work with great enthusiasm to make their contribution to the works carried out for the progress of Azerbaijan, remaining loyal to such values as serving the people and state. Although our objectives may change in nature as we face new ideas and plans, the purpose of serving the people of Azerbaijan will remain unchanged”.

Speaking at the assembly, Anar Alakbarov noted that a number of projects were successfully accomplished by the Regional Development Public Association for the last 5 years across the country, following the instructions of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, and that important tasks are facing RDPA ahead. It was underscored that the Public Association managed to create a successful mechanism, during the past period, aiming to build relations between citizens and state entities – one of the primary objectives.

The importance of the activities of volunteers of the Regional Development Public Association as “soldiers of special force” of the contemporary time during the pandemic, as well as their activities during the Patriotic War and cooperation with international organizations were underscored. 

Volunteers of the Regional Development Public Association Ruslan Alesgerov and Gunay Mammadova talked about the projects and actions, as well as voluntary programmes implemented by RDPA on various spheres.  

An address on behalf of employees and volunteers of RDPA was delivered to First Vice-president of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva at the assembly.  In the address, congratulations are delivered on behalf of employees and volunteers of the Regional Development Public Association on the occasion of the great Victory, liberation of our native Karabakh from occupation, expressing gratitude to the Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, and respect for the souls of our martyrs. Being guided by the principles of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, employees and volunteers of the Regional Development Public Association said they would work for the progress of the country, remaining loyal to such values as humanism, mercy, patriotism, serving the people and state in their future activities.

Thereafter, messages of thanks and gifts were presented to those RDPA volunteers who participated in the Patriotic War and excelled at the activities of RDPA.
