The Heydar Aliyev Foundation calls to join the petition on the official site of the White House

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation, declaring that it is holding the same views as everyone supporting the petition initiated since January 26, 2013 on the official site of the White House in connection with the Khojaly Genocide,  calls our fellow-citizens, fellow- countrymen residing outside Azerbaijan and everyone supporting the truth about Azerbaijan to be active in this vote.

It should be noted that, started on the eve of the 21st anniversary of the Khojaly Genocide, this action is aimed to call the world public’s attention to  the genocide committed against the Azerbaijanis on February 26, 2013, and to cause this truth to be recognized on the world arena. In a petition placed on the official site of the White House, the US Administration is requested to adopt a proclamation devoted to the memory of the Khojaly victims and recognize this event as a war crime. Those signing the petition are calling US President Barack Obama to recognize the bloody killings in Khojaly, recall the memory of the tragedy victims and adopt a proclamation.

Although 100 thousand votes required for the US Administration to review the petition have already been collected, the vote will continue through February 25th.

In addition, a petition associated with the occupation by Armenian military forces of 20% Azerbaijani territories has been initiated on the official site of the White House. The petition calls attention to the fact that the Daghlyg Garabagh conflict has left its black spot in millions of Azerbaijanis’ destiny as the most tragic conflict of the 20th century, over one million people have become refugees and internally displaced, having left their homes, and the USA is called to play more active role, as the Minsk Group co-chair, in the conflict’s solution.

It should be noted that the votes for the petition associated with the occupation of Azerbaijan’s Daghlyg Garabagh territory and 7 adjacent districts will come to an end on February 22.

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation calls our fellow-citizens, fellow- countrymen residing outside Azerbaijan to be active also in the vote on this petition and show solidarity in a national matter like delivering the truth about Azerbaijan to the world public.
