Celebrations to be held in Paris on the 20th anniversary of Azerbaijan's state independence

In accordance with Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan ‘On the twentieth anniversary of the restoration of state independence of Azerbaijan’, celebrations will be held in Paris 18-21 April by Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Azerbaijan’s Embassy to France. 

                          

An exhibition of carpets will be held at the UNESCO residence on April 19. The exhibition will demonstrate rare specimens of the Azerbaijani carpet-making art that become known in Europe from the 16th century, attracted the attention of art lovers and survived to the present day, including rare gems of the Garabagh carpet school.

 

The UNESCO residence will also host a concert of young talented performers. Famous pianist Isfar Sarabski, singers Aysel Teymurzade, Safura Alizade and others will perform works by foreign and Azerbaijani composers at the event.

 

In frame of the celebrations, Parisian hotel d`Evreux will host an exhibition of works by prominent representatives of the contemporary Azerbaijani art. The exhibition titled ‘Artists of the Baku Museum of Modern Art’ will present 33 works of painting and sculpture. The event will demonstrate works created in the contemporary avant-garde style by world famous Tahir Salahov, famous artists Rasim Babayev, Altay Sadygzade, Museyib Amirov, Elyar Alimirzayev, Niyaz Najafov, sculptors Fuad Salayev and Fazil Najafov.

 

A reception will be given on behalf of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, the President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
