Opening ceremony of the Gabala 4th International Music Festival was held
The official ceremony of opening of the Gabala 4th International Music Festival was held in the park before the Gafgaz Resort Hotel, in an open air, with support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, July 25.
Delivering a speech at the ceremony, one of the artistic directors of the Festival, Rector of the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeir Hajibeyli, People’s Artist Farhad Badalbeyli and member of the Milli Majlis Fattah Heydarov welcomed all the guests coming from various countries all over the world to participate in this grandiose music festival, talented performers and musicians on behalf of President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, member of the Milli Majlis Mehriban Aliyeva. They underlined that, serving the promotion of the Azerbaijani culture, this festival will also contribute to delivering our country’s music traditions to the world.
It was noted that, being held on the initiative and assistance of patroness of the Azerbaijani culture Mehriban Aliyeva, the Gabala International Music Festival has already become a nice tradition. On the Festival’s Gabala scene, works by great Azerbaijani and world composers are sounded. Along with young performers, world-renowned musicians also perform on this stage. Classic and chamber music and our mughams are performed here.
It was noted that the Azerbaijani music has always been distinguished. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been implementing a series of large projects aimed at protection and promotion of our country’s musical heritage.
Then concert of the Azerbaijan State Symphonic Orchestra and the Azerbaijan State Choir were performed. In the first part of the concert, “Chanlibel” choir from the “Koroghlu” Opera by U. Hajibeyli , “Alleluia” by G. Handel, L. Beethoven’s piano, choir and fantasy for symphonic orchestra, and in the second part an overture from the “Sevillean barber” by J. Rossini and other works were performed.
At concerts held with direction of People’s Artist Rauf Abdullayev, artistic director and chief conductor of the Azerbaijan Choir, People’s Artist, head of a department at the Academy, professor Gulbaji Imanova and Honoured Person of Art Azad Aliyev, performances by famous vocalists – People’s Artist Murad Adygozalzade, soloists of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre People’s Artist Avaz Abdullayev, Sabina Asadova, soloist of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, Honoured Artist Gulnaz Ismailova, soloist of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre Farida Mammadova, student of the Pesaro Music Academy of Italy Azer Rzazadeh were greeted with great interest by more than one thousand foreign and local viewers.
