The 5th Kharybulbul International Folk Festival comes to the end

On May 14, the 5th Kharybulbul International Folk Festival, held in Shusha city – the cultural capital of Azerbaijan – came to the end.

Held in the “Year of Shusha”, declared by a resolution of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the 270th anniversary of the city of Shusha, the 5th Kharybulbul International Folk Festival was organized with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Culture Ministry, and the Shusha City State Reserve.

The Ankara Turkic World Music and Popular Dances Ensemble, “Melitassi” Folk Dance Ensemble of Georgia and the State Dance Ensemble of Azerbaijan performed under national music.

National dances, the art of mugham were presented in the framework of the 5th festival, which continued for three days, and concerts of folk groups representing various regions and national minorities were held, video films containing performances of Azerbaijani khanendehs filmed in different years in Shusha, as well as classic music pieces were presented.

Under the leadership of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the courageous Azerbaijani Army liberated our occupied territories in the 44-day Patriotic War, securing the territorial integrity of the country. Great development projects are underway on the territories liberated from the occupation. These projects, along with restoration of liberated territories, administrative, historical and cultural monuments, cover also restoration of our cultural events and traditions that were impossible to hold for years. Thus, our liberated lands are now resting also in spiritual terms. The Kharybulbul Music Festival, held during May 12 to 14 on the Jydyr Plain, is an obvious testimony thereof.
