Presentation of a book-album devoted to national leader Heydar Aliyev takes place at the Heydar Aliyev Center

On December 11, a presentation of a book-album devoted to national leader of the people of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev took place at the Heydar Aliyev Center.

 

Entitled “Moments of a Great Person’s Life”, the album contains photos reflecting various moments of the national leader’s life. Photos related to Heydar Aliyev’s childhood and youth years, the period in which  he had worked at the State Security Committee under the Azerbaijan  SSR Council of Ministers, and headed it, was the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Azerbaijan Communist Party and  a member of the Political Bureau of the CC Soviet Union CP, First Deputy Chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers, the Chairman of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic’s Supreme Council, and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

The foreword to the publication was written by President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva. It states: “Each nation’s annals of history are rich in pages with its victories and defeats, progress and decay. Every historical period brings up unique persons that would play an exclusive and indispensable part in the development and progress of his country’s and, in general, the mankind’s history. For Azerbaijan, one of such persons was Heydar Alirza oghlu Aliyev, whose pages of life reflected the certain period of the country’s history as a mirror of a big epoch.”

 

“By this photo-album, the annals of Heydar Aliyev’s life who has lived with the dreams of reviving his country, and turning his old nation into the true owner of its lands and historical heritage, and made this dream come true, is presented - and majority of the pictures here may be called a historical document.”, - said Mehriban Aliyeva: “Pictures given in the album are distinguished by their emotional content. Some of them reflect significant historical events, in others, Heydar Aliyev is in an unofficial conditions, surrounded by his family, relatives and friends. In these photos, he was pictured in different moments – sometimes strict,  sometimes smiling, sometimes decisive, sometimes discreet, sometimes concerned, sometimes inspired, sometimes careful, and sometimes really happy. Various moments of Heydar Aliyev’s life  reflected in the pictures are an obvious evidence of his personal peculiarities, striking creative energy, wisdom, responsibility and phenomenal efficiency.”

 

First photos of the national leader too have been published in the album. Along with Azerbaijan, also photos from the Russian Federation and other countries’ archives have been collected and placed in the album.

 

Then an evening of classical music devoted to the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev  took place at the Heydar Aliyev Center, by Russia’s Great Symphonic Orchestra named after Peter Chaykovski.

 

Conducted under the direction of People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Dmitry Liss, the concert started with performance of “Koroghlu” opera by composer of genius Uzeir Hajibeyli.

 

People’s Artist Dmitry Liss said he was honoured to participate in a concert in memory of Azerbaijani people’s national leader Heydar Aliyev. ”Works by Azerbaijani, Russian and other countries’ composers that were included in the concert program were those great person Heydar Aliyev listened the most. This concert is of special significance to us. Because majority of the orchestra members are those who had once met national leader Heydar Aliyev. Azerbaijani people’s national leader Heydar Aliyev had sincere relations with People’s Artist of USSR Vladimir Fedoseev, the artistic director and chief conductor of the orchestra. “

 

Along with great Azerbaijani composers Gara Garayev, Fikret Amirov and Niyazi, also works by world classics – Johannes Brahms, Vincenzo Bellini, Giacomo Puccini, Peter Chaykovski, Sergey Rakhmaninov, Georgi Sviridov and Franz Waksman – were performed at the concert.


Accompanied by the orchestra, People’s Artist Samir Jafarov, Honoured Artist Aygun Zeynalova, soloist Afag Abbasova and violinist Elvin Ganiyev performed at the evening.
