The Baku Book Centre has been created following the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative. On August 28, 2018, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of the centre.

 

Located at the intersection of the Uzeir Hajibeyli and Gogol streets of the capital, the centre’s area is about 2500 square metres.

 

The centre accommodates a reading hall, corners for people with poor vision, and children, a place to hold various events of literary and cultural nature, as well as an education corner for those doing science.

 

The primary objective of the Baku Book Centre is to promote reading.

 

Bestsellers of the world literature in Azerbaijani and in the languages of other peoples, rare albums related to art, guides for tourists, music books and notes too will be sold at the centre. Over 10 thousand books in various languages and genres will be presented here.
