The Autism Centre in Nizami district of Baku was constructed by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

 

The Rehabilitation Centre for children with autism spectrum disorder has been in operation since 2013. So far, the Centre has not had its own building for permanent location. On December 31, 2021, the Centre’s building was commissioned.

 

The building accommodates classrooms, comforting rooms, a room for a psychologist for parents and children, sleeping and speech therapist rooms, as well as assembly and sports halls.

 

The Centre has been functioning to teach people with autism spectrum disorder necessary intercourse and life skills, to work with families in order to prepare them for an independent life, as well as implement projects to enlighten on autism. Appropriately trained specialists have been engaged in taking care of persons under 23. A cycling path was laid on the centre’s area, benches installed, and sports- and play-grounds were built.
