Days of Azerbaijan are held in Netanya

With organizational support from the Azerbaijan-Israel Association (AzIz), support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and STMEQI International Mountain Jews Foundation, the Days of Azerbaijan launched the last month in the city of Kirya-Ekron of Israel  continues.

 

At the opening of the Days of Azerbaijan, Director of the Azerbaijan Culture Centre, member of the Board of “AzIz” Association Yegana Salman made a speech devoted to the history of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan, the first democratic republic in the Orient, and talked of the role of Jews in this state. 

 

Talking of Azerbaijan’s contemporary development, Yegana Salman mentioned that today Azerbaijan is a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.

 

Yegana Salman talked also about the Azerbaijan-Israel relations, and said these relations were of strategic importance for the two countries.

 

Deputy of Netanya municipality, head of “Netanya-our Home” movement Boris Siryulnik highly appreciated the activity of Azerbaijan-Israel International Association (AzIz) and the efforts made towards developing and strengthening the relations between Azerbaijan and Israel.

 

The event ended with a concert organized under the leadership of Shaul Simon Tov, a member of AzIz Board of Directors. Tomer Aliyev and Liora Safanova, Israelis’ favourite singers of Azerbaijani descent, performed at the concert.
