President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of the Summer Recreation Camp of the Khatai district’s Children Home No.3 after major repair and reconstruction

Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of the Summer Recreation Camp of Children Home No.3 located in Buzovna settlement of the Khazar district after major repair and reconstruction.

The First Lady was informed that Children Home No.3 has been functioning since 1937. 102 children from 3 to 18 years of age deprived of parental care have been living here and educated. From 1989 to 1990, orphans had spent their holiday during summer season at a recreation centre located in Buzovna settlement of the Khazar district. Since 1991, the recreation centre stopped to function due to being useless for living. Within the project of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation called “A new school to new Azerbaijan”,  reconstruction works started in February of 2010 at this summer recreation camp. High-standard conditions have been created at the four-storied, 120-bed camp for children’s rest and entertainment. Here children will learn secrets of information and communication technologies using computers.

Books related to a number of fields have been collected in the Camp’s library. There are four 15-person bedroom on the second floor intended for boys. 200-person meeting room here has been provided with necessary equipment to hold various events. And the third floor of the building has been intended for girls. Favourable conditions has been created on the forth floor to hold interesting events for children. All conditions have been created at the camp for children’s going in for sport. A football pitch has been created here and a swimming pool built. With various trees and decorative shrubs planted, the yard of the camp has been equipped with up-to-date illumination system, and entertainment points created. Security cameras and signalling system have been installed at the building of the summer recreation camp.

Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva met with employees of Children’s Home No.3, and children, and congratulated them on the completion of the summer recreation camp.
