Inauguration of Infant’s Home-Nursery No.78 in Shuvalan Settlement

Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of Infant’s Home-Nursery No.78 in Shuvalan Settlement after major repair and reconstruction, May 9.

The First Lady was informed that reconstruction works at the building started in February of 2011 within the project of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation called “A new school to new Azerbaijan”. The 120-bed infant’s home-nursery consists of two floors and a basement. Special conditions have been created here for children to practise gymnastics and play chess, an intellectual game, to realize their ideas through painting and form their musical tastes, and the sports hall has been provided with security devices. There are storeroom, laundry, dishwashing room, archive and other rooms. The canteen conforms to modern standards and provision of children with meals is carried out in a centralized way. For this purpose, meals prepared in the basement of the building is carried to upper floors by an escalator. Each group has its own kitchen. Here are six groups – one middle aged group, one little children’s group, two adults groups and two preschool groups.

A 50-cubic meter drinking water basin and a 80-cubic meter fire water basin have been built in the yard of the infant’s home-nursery. With completely new lighting system, the nursery has been equipped with security cameras and signalling systems.
