Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva met with residents of children homes of Nasimi, Khatai and Surakhany districts of Baku

On December 27, Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva visited, on the eve of the New Year, Children’s Home No.1 in Nasimi district of Baku.


Leyla Aliyeva was informed that the building was built in 1930, and in two years started to function as a children’s home. The children home was reconstructed in 2005 following the initiative of Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva. Abandoned and rejected children up to 4 years old live here.


Leyla Aliyeva viewed children’s bedrooms.  It was noted that good conditions have been created here for children. Currently, majority of children that have left this home, where 42 children are being brought up, are adopted.


Leyla Aliyeva joined children’s holiday festivity and gave them presents.

On the same day, Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation visited also Children’s Home No.3 in Khatai district of the capital.


Director of the children’s home Mahbuba Huseynova talked of the care shown towards them by the Foundation, which is named after national leader Heydar Aliyev and keeping alive his ideas and benevolent deeds. 


It was informed that, accommodating 85 children, this establishment has been covered with every type of care and attention. Following the Foundation’s initiative, a summer recreation resort has been built in Buzovna settlement and delivered for children’s use.


Then Leyla Aliyeva watched a New Year program prepared by children. Holiday gifts from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation made children happier.


Leyla Aliyeva inquired about children’s condition. It was noted that all conditions have been created here for children’s living and leisure.

Then Leyla Aliyeva came to Children’s Home No.2 in Surakhany district and participated in the New Year festivity organized here.


Residents of the children’s home welcomed Leyla Aliyeva with great feelings of joy.


It was emphasized that, as other boarding schools, the Heydar Aliyeva Foundation has been keeping this establishment under constant control. 131 children from 3 to 18 live here. 78 teachers and technical personnel are engaged in their education. Residents of this home have been feeling constant care of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, in addition to that of the State. An up-to-date canteen designed for 200 people has been constructed in 2006 for the children home with support from the Foundation. In addition, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation presented, in different years, 2 vehicles, TV sets, computers and other necessary equipment to the children’s home.


It was noted that residents of the children’s home participated in various festivities held in the country with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s support, and achieved high results in international contests.
